Andy Baxter
CEO - Interfinish

As CEO of Interfinish, Mr. Baxter has more than 30 years of experience in Operations, Financial Management, Marketing and IT. He leads Interfinish's expansion-oriented business strategy, focusing on continuous improvement of the customer experience and refinement of services and programs. His ability to implement successful business strategies is evident through his track record, utilizing process improvement and technology to continually improve their service offerings.


Mindy Berman
Managing Director - Jones Lang Lasalle

Ms. Berman serves as a Managing Director and Practice Lead for Healthcare in the Capital Markets Group of Jones Lang LaSalle. She serves the firm’s investor and provider clients by developing and executing financial strategies and requirements for their capital and occupancy requirements related to real estate, assisting them in the evaluation and execution of deal structures to meet their economic , investment and financial objectives.  Ms. Berman has 30 years of corporate finance experience structuring and arranging financing for the fixed assets of major corporations to meet their economic, financial, operational, tax and financial reporting objectives. Ms. Berman has advised and arranged over $5 billion of healthcare industry real property for providers, investors and developers involving investment sales, developer build-to-suits and project and structured financing of acute care facilities, medical office buildings, senior housing and skilled nursing facilities and other health care-related properties. Her experience with healthcare providers includes medical equipment financing and unsecured private placements. She has relationships with a multitude of capital sources including institutional investors, commercial banks, finance companies and private equity investors for taxable and tax-exempt financing.


Mark Burkemper
Senior Vice President - Harrison Street Real Estate Capital

Mr. Burkemper is a Senior Vice President in the transactions group for Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, LLC. Mr. Burkemper is responsible for sourcing, analyzing, and closing of transactions and venture relationships within the firm's focus on healthcare assets. During his tenure at Harrison Street, Mr. Burkemper has acquired or developed over $1.5 billion of self storage, medical office and senior housing transactions. Prior to joining Harrison Street, Mr. Burkemper was a Senior Associate at Morgan Stanley within its Merchant Banking Real Estate Investing Group. While at Morgan Stanley, Mr. Burkemper sourced, underwrote and closed acquisition and joint venture opportunities in the US, Canada and Mexico for several of its funds. In this capacity, he analyzed potential acquisitions, development and redevelopment opportunities across the capital structure, property types and risk / return fund parameters.


Sam Chandan
President & Chief Economist - Chandan Economics

Professor in the Associated Faculty of Real Estate, The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania

Sam Chandan, PhD is the Larry & Klara Silverstein Chair in Real Estate Development and Investment and the Academic / Associate Dean for the NYU SPS Schack Institute of Real Estate. In addition, Dean Chandan is partner, global head of strategy, and a member of the investment committee at Capri Capital, a multinational investment management firm with approximately $4.0 billion of assets under management in the United States and additional interests in Sub-Saharan Africa and India. He is also founder of Chandan Economics, a provider of multifamily and commercial real estate mortgage data and risk analytics to banks and bank regulators, co-host of the Real Estate Hour on SiriusXM Business Radio, and economist laureate of the Real Estate Lenders Association. His commentary on commercial and residential real estate markets and the broader economy has been featured regularly in national and global press, including the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, CNBC, and Bloomberg. Before assuming the leadership of Schack, Dean Chandan held the Laurence and Susan Hirsch professorship at the Wharton School. Among his other private sector roles, he was Global Chief Economist and Executive Vice President at Real Capital Analytics (RCA). During his tenure as Chief Economist at Reis, he was part of the executive team that took the company public.


Tom Errath
Director or Research and Strategy - Harrison Street

As a Director of Research and Strategy, he directs Harrison Street’s research process for its primary investment sectors of education, healthcare and storage real estate. Research at Harrison Street is used as a strategic tool to guide operating and investment strategy for Harrison Street’s portfolio. He also leads new business development efforts as the firm contemplates growth strategies into new markets and complementary real estate segments. He is an alternative real estate expert and frequent speaker on alternative real estate segments and has written articles and given media interviews and speeches to industry and investor groups. He was formerly responsible for boat storage acquisitions and asset management. He is a member of a ULI Product Council and an Advisory Board Member at Revista. Prior to Harrison Street, Mr. Errath’s real estate experience includes working at Macquarie Real Estate, Heitman and Trammell Crow. He also ran corporate development for a Fortune 500 firm. During this period, he was also a Board Member of the Igloo Corporation and the U.S. Coast Guard Foundation. Mr. Errath has a BA from Northwestern University and an MBA from the JL Kellogg School of Management.


Erik Gainor
Principal / CEO, Zeustra Real Estate Investment Services

Mr. Gainor is an industry veteran in the healthcare real estate investment sector. He has held a number of senior positions at commercial real estate companies and advised some of the world’s largest public and private institutions to assist them in achieving their transactional and investment objectives in the most complex economic environments. Throughout his career, Mr. Gainor has assisted investors and medical providers in developing and executing real estate strategies that preserve wealth and maximize returns. He is well known for his hands-on and activist approach to value creation tied to the monetization of medical office buildings (MOB’s), hospitals, surgery centers, post-acute care facilities, assisted living and other healthcare real estate assets. His strong institutional ties to domestic and foreign capital sources have solidified his reputation as one of the industry’s leading advisors. Mr. Gainor continues to be actively involved in all aspects of Zeustra’s operations, ranging from investor sell-side and buy-side advisor services, underwriting, and transaction management. He is a dedicated philanthropist and contributor to the arts and education, with a particular interest in continental philosophy. Mr. Gainor is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University.


Andrew Haslam
Vice President, Real Estate Strategy, Providence St. Joseph Health

Andrew has experience in various healthcare settings including critical access hospitals, corporate services, health insurance, and real estate. In his role as Chief Asset Officer, Andrew leads the development and implementation of standard practices for managing the assets, leasing, property management, and land use. He has oversight of over 5 regions of real estate professionals, and the Providence Health & Services portfolio of over 22M square feet, 3,000 leases, and over 900 buildings with annual lease responsibilities of nearly $200M. Serving in various capacities within the Real Estate and Construction division he has successfully managed the M&A work, as well as the integration of multiple organizations’ real estate functions. Andrew earned his bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from Portland State University, and has a MBA and MHA from Saint Louis University. He is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.


Todd Kibler
Principal - Hammes Partners

Todd Kibler is a Principal of Hammes Partners, a private equity firm dedicated to investing in the healthcare real estate sector on behalf of private and public pension funds, endowments, insurance companies and family offices. Mr. Kibler is responsible for investment origination, underwriting, capitalization and monetization activities associated with the firm’s affiliated discretionary commingled real estate funds. Prior to the establishment of the firm’s institutional investment platform, Mr. Kibler was a Partner with Hammes Company Healthcare, LLC and served as the company’s Chief Financial and Investment Officer. During the course of his 28 year career, Mr. Kibler held senior executive positions with various public and private real estate operating, investment and development companies active in the United States and Europe and spanning virtually all product types . Mr. Kibler earned his Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, at Los Angeles.


Kevin Kirn
VP – Business Development, Welltower

Kevin Kirn serves as Vice President of the Outpatient Medical Group with Welltower. He assists in the development and execution of the Outpatient Medical Group’s investment strategy. He is also responsible for sourcing and managing strategic relationships with leading health care providers, physician groups, academic medical centers, developers and brokers throughout the investment process. Mr. Kirn has spent 30 years as a commercial real estate executive with responsibilities including development, construction project management, operations, leasing and financing. He has advised numerous Fortune 500 firms on their real estate programs and was a founding member of CBRE’s Health Care Advisory Group.


Dan Klein
Senior Vice President-Deputy Chief Investment Officer, Physicians Realty Trust

Dan Klein is the Senior Vice President – Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Physicians Realty Trust (NYSE: DOC). Klein joined Physicians Realty Trust in 2016 in a consulting role. During his time as a consultant, he worked alongside the DOC executive team in the strategy, pursuit and execution of targeted acquisition opportunities that met the company’s objectives. Prior to his consulting role, Mr. Klein worked for many years at Welltower (NYSE:HCN). Klein sits on several prominent industry boards, is a frequent speaker and has published articles in the medical office space. Mr. Klein was Co-Founder and President of CB Richard Ellis/Reichle Klein, a full-service commercial real estate firm. He is an attorney and holds IREM’s CPM© designation. He received a BS from the University of Virginia, where he was a four-year member of the men’s golf team, and a law degree from The University of Toledo College of Law. He currently lives in Charleston, South Carolina with his wife, Robin and four daughters.


Alfonzo Leon
Chief Investment Officer, IA Group (Global Medical REIT)

Mr. Leon is a real estate finance executive with over 20 years of acquisition and capital markets experience with approximately 150 completed transactions on behalf of institutional investors valued at US$3.5 billion. Prior to joining IA Group in 2014, Mr. Leon was a Senior Vice President with Cain Brothers & Company, a boutique health care investment banking firm based out of New York and San Francisco, within their real estate M&A and capital markets group. Mr. Leon joined Cain Brothers in 2005 and worked with leading clients across the health care spectrum including several health systems, multi-specialty physician groups, senior housing operators, NYSE listed and non-traded REITs, health care developers, and private equity investors. Prior to Cain Brothers, Mr. Leon was a real estate underwriter with LaSalle Investment Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL) within its North American acquisition group. Mr. Leon joined LaSalle in 2000 and was responsible for acquiring multi-family, office, medical office, and industrial property on behalf of institutional investors which included the nation’s largest pension funds, college endowments and sovereign wealth funds.


Robert A. Milligan
Chief Financial Officer, Healthcare Trust of America, Inc.

Mr. Milligan has served as our Executive Vice President of Corporate Finance since June 2014 and has been with HTA since January 2011. From December 2013 to June 2014, Mr. Milligan served as our Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance. January 2011 to December 2013, Mr. Milligan served as our Director of Finance. In these roles, his duties have included responsibility for institutional investor relations, capital market activities, and corporate financial planning and analysis. Prior to joining HTA, Mr. Milligan served as a Vice President in Bank of America Merrill Lynch's Corporate and Investment bank from 2007 to 2011, with a focus on healthcare clients.


Benjamin Ochs
CEO - Anchor Health Properties

Based in the firm’s Charlottesville, VA, office, Mr. Ochs brings more than a decade of experience in the management, development, acquisition, and investment of healthcare real estate. Prior to the merger of Brinkman Management & Development with Anchor Health Properties, Mr. Ochs spent a decade overseeing the predecessor firm’s day-to-day operations of Development, Operations, Financing, Asset Management, Leasing, Acquisition and Disposition of Healthcare Real Estate to hospitals, physician practice groups, private and institutional healthcare real estate investors throughout the Southeast. Before Brinkman Management & Development, Mr. Ochs served as a Financial and Underwriting Analyst at a boutique consulting firm. Mr. Ochs received a BBA from James Madison University with concentrations in Finance and Management, holds the CPM designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management and currently serves as the firm’s Principal Broker in the firm’s central Virginia office. He was an HREI Healthcare Real Estate Executive of the Year finalist in 2016 and serves on the James Madison University College of Business Finance and Business Law Advisory Board as well as Treasurer of the Trinity Fellows Program. Mr. Ochs resides in Charlottesville, VA, and enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and three children.


Chriss Papayannis
Director - Real Estate , Wellspan Health

Chriss Papayannis is a healthcare executive with national commercial real estate experience. He has a background in retail real estate and is currently the Director of Real Estate for WellSpan Health in South Central Pennsylvania. He executes the overall growth strategy by providing site specific data analysis, contract negotiations, construction budgeting and commercial real estate guidance system-wide. WellSpan Health is an 8-hospital regional healthcare provider in South Central Pennsylvania with over 19,000 employees, a $2B+ real estate portfolio of over 6M square feet that continues to grow through acquisitions and new construction.


Alan C. Plush, MAI
Senior Partner - HealthTrust, LLC

Mr. Plush specializes exclusively in Healthcare and Retirement valuation throughout the United States. He is currently President and Senior Partner of HealthTrust, LLC following its spin off from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was the national director of the Healthcare Valuation group for over three years. Prior to this, Mr. Plush was the owner and president of Gulf/Atlantic Valuation Services, Inc., which was purchased by PricewaterhouseCoopers in August 1999. HealthTrust operates from five locations in the U.S. and Canada (Sarasota, Birmingham, Boston, Los Angeles, and Toronto). In 1986, Mr. Plush began specializing in the appraisal of a large number of healthcare properties. With a foundation in the appraisal of adult congregate living facilities and nursing homes, his specialized expertise has grown substantially. To date, he has directly or indirectly participated in the appraisal of approximately 6,000 nursing homes, 4,500 congregate care facilities, an additional 1,000 continuing care retirement centers, and over 200 hospitals throughout 48 states in the United States. HealthTrust appraises 1,500 - 2,000 properties annually.


Bob Reilly
CFO - Anne Arundel Health System

Bob Reilly is Chief Financial Officer for Anne Arundel Health System and leads the financial operations of the System. Areas that Mr. Reilly oversees include financial reporting, budgeting & reimbursement, patient financial services, supply chain, treasury services, real estate management and legal services. Mr. Reilly has more than twenty years of healthcare experience in leadership roles, serving previously in several hospitals in the Baltimore area. He joined the System in 2007 as Vice President of Finance and was promoted to his current position in 2010. Mr. Reilly holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky. He is also a certified public accountant and has been a long time member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Mr. Reilly also serves as a board member on four of the System’s subsidiaries and serves as treasurer for Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce.


Scott Selig
Assoc. VP - Real Estate at Duke University

Scott Selig, became Associate Vice President of Capital Assets and Real Estate at Duke University in 2001. Scott’s professional career includes over 30 years of experience in many facets of the commercial real estate industry including brokerage, property management and development. Scott is charged with developing and implementing the overall real estate strategy for Duke University and the Duke University Health System, the asset management of the Washington Duke Inn, and the acquisition and disposition of Duke Forest land. The portfolio contains more than 250 leases encompassing approximately 3.0 Million square feet of office, medical clinic, laboratory and warehouse space. The Duke Forest is comprised of approximately 7,000 acres in the Research Triangle area. His role also took him to China on a regular basis to implement facility management and operations management plans for the new university campus in Kunshan, China. Scott graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington in 1984, with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He earned his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in 1992.


Steven Stubbs
Regional Director, Clinic & Ancillary Development - Adventist Health

Steven Stubbs is a Regional Director for Adventist Health, a 20 hospital, 39 clinic healthcare system in the western states. Steven oversees their Southern California M&A projects, including financing, contracting and development of its outpatient projects and clinics. His 18 years experience in the Southern California healthcare market offers perspective for strategic planning in a challenging payor mix and highly competitive environment.


Erik Tellefson
Managing Director, Capital One, Healthcare Financial Solutions

Erik Tellefson is the Managing Director of Capital One, Healthcare Financial Solutions (HFS) Medical Office/Medical Properties Loan Originations segment. During his ten year career at GE Capital and now with Capital One, he has focused on Medical Office/Medical Property transactions and has experience with originations, structuring, valuation, and underwriting – most notably, with large complex portfolio transactions.


Murray Wolf

Murray W. Wolf is Publisher and Founding Editor of Healthcare Real Estate Insights, which was launched in January 2003 and remains the nation's only publication dedicated to healthcare real estate development, financing and investment. He is an experienced media executive and an award-winning journalist with more than three decades of marketing, communications and publishing experience, almost exclusively in the commercial real estate sector. Mr. Wolf also serves as Managing Principal of Wolf Marketing & Media, which he founded in 2001. In addition to the monthly HREI magazine, the firm publishes the annual HREI Resource Guide directory of healthcare real estate services, hosts the newly redesigned and expanded www.HREInsights.com website, and presents the annual HREI Insights Awards recognizing excellence in healthcare real estate development and executive leadership. Terry Wood
Vice President - Real Estate, Kaiser Permanente

Terry is responsible for executing real estate services for Kaiser Permanente’s nearly 80 million square foot real estate portfolio, including more than 1,000 facilities, with a replacement value of $32 Billion. He is accountable for developing industry leading tools, implementing strategy, and establishing industry best practices for all key functions within the Real Estate Division.
Terry has more than 25 years of experience in all facets of domestic and international corporate real estate, including strategic planning, real estate transactions, facilities management and construction. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente in 2015, Terry was the Vice President, Global Real Estate, responsible for Hewlett Packard’s global real estate portfolio. He previously served as the Vice President, Global Real Estate for JDSU Corp. Terry spent 19 years in the Canadian Military Engineers, serving throughout Canada, Europe and the United Kingdom, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. He graduated with an Engineering degree from The Royal Military College of Canada and maintains his Professional Engineering status. He is an active member in several real estate organizations. He is a past president of the Northern California Chapter of CoreNet Global and a past Officer on the CoreNet Global Board of Directors.
