Medical Real Estate Construction Pipeline is Growing

September 15, 2016 by Mike Hargrave Topics: Construction/Development, Revista News

Revista has recently posted all Mid-Year reports to its subscriber pages. Among the reports posted is the Mid-Year 2016 US Medical Real Estate Construction Report. This report details National construction statistics and trends on hospitals and medical office buildings (MOBs). The report shows the construction pipeline is growing. The total US medical real estate construction pipeline now stands at $102.1 B which is up 5.1% from the year end 2015 figure of $97.1 B. The total pipeline includes all hospital and MOB construction projects that are in late planning or in progress and expanding by at least 7,500 square feet and are in excess of$5 million in value.

In addition to the growing pipeline, the level of construction (compared to existing square footage or inventory) is also growing. The construction vs. inventory metric was 5.6% as of mid-year 2016. This is up from 4.8% at year-end 2015. Below are the mid-year 2016 key metrics. For more information please access this report through a subscription to Revista by contacting Hilda Martin at hilda@revistamed.com or calling (443) 949-8794.
