In the past twelve months, over 21 million square feet of medical office space have been delivered across the country. More than 35% of that has been condensed in 10 markets. Chicago and Dallas top the list with more than a million feet of space being delivered in each market. Nashville had 8 projects open in the last year including a new outpatient cancer care campus developed by Provision Healthcare. OHSU in Portland has been busy, they opened 400K+ square foot Health and Healing Pavilion on their south waterfront campus in April. This comes on the tail of opening the 320K square foot Knight Cancer Research Building. Orlando, although 10th in the list, opened a dozen projects in the last year, several by Orlando Health’s South Lake Hospital in an effort to keep up with growth in the market.
